2nd Thessalonians
Thanking Jesus

2nd Thessalonians 1
1Thank You for Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, who wrote to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God, our Father, and in You, Lord Jesus Christ. 2I appreciate the grace and peace that Paul sent from Your Father God and from You, Lord Jesus Christ.
3Thank You that I (like Paul) am bound to always give thanks to God for my Christian siblings, even as it is appropriate, because their faith grows exceedingly, and because the love of each and every one of them towards one another abounds. 4Thank You that I (like Paul) can myself boast about my Christian siblings in the assemblies of God for their patience and faith in all their persecutions and in the afflictions which they endure.
5This is an obvious sign of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that my Christian siblings may be counted worthy of the Kingdom of God, for which they also suffer. 6Thank You that it is a righteous thing with God to repay affliction to those who afflict me, 7and that You give relief to those who are afflicted with me.
I am thankful, Lord Jesus, that, when You are revealed from heaven with Your mighty angels in flaming fire, 8You will give vengeance to those who do not know God, and to those who do not obey Your Good News, Lord
Jesus.
9I appreciate that the disobedient will pay the penalty: eternal destruction from Your face, O Lord, and from the glory of Your might. [1]0I am thankful that You will come to be glorified in Your saints, and to be admired among all of us who have believed. Thank You that Paul’s testimony to the Thessalonians was believed in that day.
11To this end I also pray giving thanks for my Christian siblings, that our God will count them worthy of their calling, and fulfill every good resolve and work of faith by Your power.
12I also give thanks that Your name, O Lord Jesus, will be glorified in us, and we in You, according to the grace of our God and of You, our Lord Jesus Christ.
2nd Thessalonians 2
Thank You for telling me that that day will not come before there arises a definite rejection of God, and the lawless man is revealed, the product of all that leads to death, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
5Thank You that the Thessalonians remembered that, when he was still with them, Paul told them these things.
6Thank You that now I know what is restraining this man of sin, to the end that he may be revealed at the proper time. 7Thank You for the “restraining power” that is already at work.
I thank You for the “restraining hand” in place now, until it is removed. 8Thank You that then the lawless one will be clearly seen, whom You, Lord, will kill with the breath of Your mouth.
I am thankful that You will annihilate him by the radiance of Your coming; 9even though the coming of that wicked man is the work of Satan.
Thank You for telling me that this person will come with all powerful signs and miracles of the Lie, 10and with all deception of wickedness for those who are being lost, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might find salvation.
11I appreciate knowing that because of this, God sends them the full force of evil’s power to deceive, that they should believe a lie; 12that they all might be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
13But I am bound to always give thanks to God for others, my Christian siblings, loved by You, Lord, and chosen by God from the beginning to save them and to make them holy through Your Spirit and belief in the truth.
14 Lord Jesus Christ, thank You that God called me through Paul’s Good News, for the obtaining of Your glory. 15So then, Jesus, I thank You that I stand firm, and hold the traditions which I was taught by people like Paul, whether by word, or by letter.
16Now I praise You, my Lord Jesus Christ Yourself, and God Your Father, Who loved me and gave me eternal comfort and good hope through grace. 17Thank You for comforting my heart and establishing me in every good work and word.
2nd Thessalonians 3
1Finally, Jesus, thank You for others who pray for me, that Your word, O Lord, may spread rapidly and be glorified, even as it has done with others.
2Thank You that I will be delivered from unreasonable and evil people who do not have faith. 3Thank You, Lord, for being faithful, and establishing me, and guarding me from the evil one.
4Lord, thank You for having confidence in me, that I both do and will do the things You command.
5 Lord, thank You for directing my heart into the love of God, and into Your patience suffering, O Christ.
6Thank You for commanding me, Lord Jesus Christ, in Your name, that I withdraw myself from every Christian sibling who walks in rebellion, and not after the tradition which I received from You.
7Thank You that I know how I ought to imitate Paul’s group. Thank You that they were not idle among the Thessalonians. 8Thank You that they did not eat bread from anyone’s hand without paying for it, but in labor and travail worked night and day, that they might not be a burden to any one. 9I appreciate that it was not because Paul did not have the right, but to make himself an example to me, that I should imitate him.
10Thank You for the commandment: “If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.” 11Although I hear of some who walk among us living in idleness, who do not work at all, but are busybodies, 12thank You, Lord Jesus Christ, for now commanding and exhorting that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13Thank You, Jesus, for keeping me from becoming weary in honest work.
14Thank You for telling me that if any person does not obey Paul’s word in this letter, I am to note that person and have no company with him, to the end that he may be ashamed. 15Thank You that I am not to count him as an enemy, but that I am to admonish him as a brother.
16Now, I thank You, the Lord of peace Yourself, for giving me peace at all times in all ways and for being with me. 17Thank You for Paul’s greeting, with his own hand, which is his sign in every letter that he wrote.
18Thank You, our Lord Jesus Christ, for Your grace which is with us all. Amen.
